SSC GD Selection Process & Paper Pattern
If the candidates make it through every stage of the selection procedure, they will be assigned to the position of Constable GD. Candidates must participate in four stages of the selection process before their performance is evaluated to determine whether they are qualified for the open positions. Candidates for selection will be assigned to various positions in the nation’s armed services as constables.
- Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
Computer Based Examination
During the first round of the selection process, the candidates will be summoned to sit in the Computer Based Examination (CBE). Candidates who complete this online test will be able to participate in the next stages of the selection process.
- There will be 80 MCQ-type questions in the test.
- Each question will carry 02 marks in weightage.
- A negative mark of .25 marks will be made for wrong answers.
- The question will be of Matric level in the test.
- Candidates will get 60 minutes to solve the test.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates will be contacted to take the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) following the completion of the written exam. During this exam, applicants need to finish the race in the allotted time.
- For Male Candidate – 5 Kms in 24 minutes.
- For Female Candidates – 1.6 Kms in 8 minutes 30 seconds.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Those who clear the PET exam are required to take the Physical Standard Test (PST). Candidates who meet the criteria and physical fitness requirements of the armed forces will be chosen by the authority.
