Below are the specifics of the educational requirements and eligibility requirements for Agniveer Vayu, or those hired through the Agnipath Scheme to become Agniveers in the Indian Air Force.

  • Science Subjects
    • Candidates must have received at least 50% of their total points and 50% of their English marks in the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent test, which covered mathematics, physics, and English, from an Education Board recognized as a COBSE member. OR
    • A government-recognized polytechnic institute awarded me a three-year diploma in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, and Information Technology) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English during the diploma program (or in Intermediate or Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course). OR
    • completed a two-year vocational course from a state education board or council that is listed in the COBSE, passing it with non-vocational subjects like math and physics and earning 50% of the total marks in the course’s English class (or Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the vocational course).
  • Other Than Science Subjects
    • passed the Intermediate, 10+2, or Equivalent Examination in any subject with a minimum of 50% overall and 50% in English, as approved by Central or State Education Boards listed as COBSE members. OR
    • completed a two-year vocational program from an Education Board designated as a COBSE member, earning at least 50% of the possible points overall and 50% in the English language course, or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English wasn’t a topic.

When completing the online registration form, candidates who meet the requirements for the Science Subjects examination (based on Intermediate/10+2) are also eligible for the Other than Science Subjects examination. They will have the option to take both the Science and Other than Science Subjects examinations in one sitting.

  • The selection of the candidates is based on an online exam and physical and medical tests.

Agniveer Vayu will be chosen for the Indian Air Force’s Agnipath Scheme through the subsequent stages:

  • Phase-I Online Test: 48 to 72 hours before the test, eligible candidates will receive provisional admit cards via their registered email addresses. They must download, print in color, and bring their admit cards to the testing location on the day of the online test in order to participate in the selection test. Nonetheless, candidates will be informed in advance of the exam’s name and date so they can make travel arrangements. The online test will consist of bilingual (English and Hindi) questions that are objective in nature, with the exception of the English paper. Applicants who select both non-science and science topics will take the online exam on the same platform all at once. During Phase I testing, candidates are required to carry their valid AADHAR card along with one blue or black pen. The details of the test are as follows:
    • Science-related subjects. The online test will last for sixty minutes in total and cover English, Physics, and Mathematics in accordance with the CBSE syllabus for 10+2.
    • Subjects Other Than Science: The 45-minute online test will include Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA) and English according to the CBSE syllabus for the 10+2 grade.
    • Science Courses and Subjects Not Associated with Science: The online test will last 85 minutes in total and cover Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA) as well as English, Physics, and Mathematics according to the CBSE 10+2 syllabus.
    • The online test will be graded as follows: (i) One mark for each right response. (ii) No points are awarded for an unanswered question. (iii) Each incorrect response will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks.
  • Phase-II: Shortlisted applicants will receive a new admission card at their registered email addresses for the Phase-II test at a designated ASC. The cutoff will be imposed based on the marks received by the candidates in the Phase I Test shortly after the results of the Phase-I (online) Test are announced, which the IAF Portal will also provide access to. Candidates must report to the assigned ASC at the given time and day for Phase-II, along with the required documentation:
    • Phase II admit card in color printout.
    •  
    • Once online registration is complete, download the properly completed application form in color and print it off.
    • HB pencil, writing instrument (black or blue ballpoint pen), eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler.
    • Eight scanned copies of a color passport photo, not attested (used for online application registration).
    • Original matriculation passing certificate and four self-attested photocopies (needed to confirm the candidate’s identity, father’s name, and birthdate).
    • Original matriculation marks sheet and four self-attested photocopies (relevant only to holders of three-year diplomas where English is not a topic in the diploma program).
    • The passing certificate and marks sheet for the Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examination, both in original and four self-attested photocopies. OR The three-year diploma course passing certificate, four self-attested photocopies, and all semester mark sheets are in original. OR Four self-attested photocopies of the original certificate of completion from a two-year vocational course, as well as all mark sheets from non-vocational courses, include English, Physics, and Mathematics.
    • Sons of Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) certificates, including those for sons of active, retired, or deceased civilian employees of the Air Force, must be downloaded from the CASB web portal’s download section and brought with them when they report for Phase II of the examination.
    • The original Phase-I admit card used during the Phase-I test bears the Air Force seal and invigilator’s signature. (k) Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’, or ‘C’ certificates (if applicable).
  • Agniveer Vayu Physical Fitness Test (PFT): The names of the shortlisted candidates who pass the online exam will be posted on the CASB Web Portal. On a predetermined date, they will be called to the designated ASC for the PFT, which entails a 1.6-kilometer run that takes 07 minutes for male candidates and 08 minutes for female candidates to complete. To pass the physical fitness test, candidates must additionally finish 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats in the allotted time.
  • Adaptability Test-I for Agniveer Vayu: After passing the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), candidates must complete the Adaptability Test-I, an objective written test, to determine their suitability for employment in the Indian Air Force (IAF), which entails deployment in a variety of weather and operational conditions.
  • Adaptability Test-II for Agniveer Vayu: In accordance with current policy, all candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I must take Adaptability Test-II. The purpose of the Adaptability Test-II is to identify applicants who can acclimate to the Indian Air Force’s environment and way of life.
  • Phase III Medical Examination: Those who pass the Adaptability Test-II will receive a medical appointment letter from their respective ASCs for their medical examination at the assigned Medical Boarding Center (MBC) on the date provided. The Air Force Medical Team will perform the medical examination in accordance with current IAF medical standards and regulations. Baseline investigations of the following would also be part of the medical examination: blood hemograms (Hb, TLC, and DLC).
    • blood hemogram (Hb, TLC, DLC).
    • Pee RE/ME
    • Biochemistry
    • Fasting on Blood Sugar and PP
    • serum Fat
    • Creatinine, Urea, and Uric Acid
    • SGOT, SGPT, LFT-Serum Bilurubin, and X-ray chest (PA view)
    • ECG (R)
    • tests for the abuse of psychotropic substances and narcotic drugs.
    • any more tests that the medical officer deems necessary.

Hand-to-hand pay for advisers in the Indian Air Force:

  • Month in the first year: ₹ 21,000/-
  • Second Year: ₹ 23,100/-Monetary
  • Year Three: ₹ 25,550/-Monetary Month
  • IV Year: ₹28,000/-Moment.

Indian Air Force Agniveers’ Contribution to Seva Nidhi:

  • In the first year: ₹ 18,000/- per month (₹ 9,000 by the government and ₹ 9,000 by the aggregater).
  • ₹ 19,800/-Per Month in the Second Year (₹ 9,900 By Agniveer & ₹ 9,900 By Government)
  • Third Year: ₹ 21,900/-Per Month (Government and Agniveer Contributions: ₹ 10,950)
  • IV Year: ₹ 24,000 /-Mo. (₹ 12,000 By Government & ₹ 12,000 By Agniveer)

Perks and Other Benefits for Agniveers in the Indian Air Force:

  • Upon leaving the Indian Air Force after four years, Agniveers would receive a Seve Nidhi Package worth Rs. 10.04 lakh. Additionally, Agniveers will receive life insurance coverage worth Rs. 48 lakhs for the duration of their service as Agniveers in the IAF.
  • “Agniveer” Qualification. A thorough skill-set certificate outlining the abilities and degree of proficiency the IAF Agniveers have earned will be given to them at the conclusion of their engagement period with the Indian Air Force.
  • One-time ex-gratia payment of Rs. 44 lakhs, plus insurance coverage of Rs. 48 lakhs, Seva Nidhi of ₹ 10.04 lakh, and the salary for the remaining service in the event of an employee’s death while on duty.

Agniveer Vayu’s general medical standards are as follows:

  • Height: Agniveer Vayu must be at least 152.5 cm tall to be considered.
  • Chest: There is a 5 cm minimum range of expansion.
  • Weight: In line with age and height.
  • PRK/LASIK corneal surgery is not appropriate. Visual criteria in accordance with Indian Air Force standards as appropriate.
  • Hearing: The candidate should be able to hear a forced whisper at a distance of six meters with each ear separately, which is considered normal hearing.
  • Dental: A nice set of teeth, healthy gums, and at least 14 dental points are required.
  • General Health: The candidate should not have lost any appendages and have a normal anatomy. He should not have any latent or current, acute or chronic, surgical or medical disabilities, infections, or skin conditions. The candidate must be fit both physically and psychologically to carry out their duties in any region of the world, regardless of the weather.

All Agniveers enlisted in the Indian Air Force would be reintegrated into society after four years. Agniveers who have departed the IAF, however, will have the opportunity to re-join the IAF in the regular cadre in accordance with organizational standards and guidelines established by the IAF. Every IAF Agniveer will have a certificate attesting to his talents, which he can attach to his resume. Based on their performance during their four years of engagement as Agniveers, no more than 25% of the strength of the particular batch of initial Agniveers will be registered in the IAF after these applications are examined in a transparent manner by a centralized board.
